Welcome to JSL Little League
At the development ages of 4 to 7 years old, children generally don't have an appreciation for the benefits of building a skill nor do they associate any benefits with being good at something. They just want to play.
The JSL Little League curriculum is designed to first introduce the fun, and thus the motivation, then add challenges. Our goal is to eventually get children to perform a particular exercise that builds a vital skill while they are fully engaged.
We aim to motivate children so that they become fully engaged. In order to maximise the rate of skill building, we believe an indirect “fun” approach works much faster and better than a traditional “direct” approach.
We believe it will take time, which is a big reason for asking parents to commit to an initial six week period. However, once the children become settled in their strange new surroundings and get familiarised with the new faces they will be seeing, the benefits to a child are huge in terms of their football development and more importantly their development as happy, confident young people.
JSL would like your child to feel part of an exclusive club that promotes a sense of belonging and team spirit. Membership is compulsory and comes with a range of benefits:
· Priority Class Admissions
o Our Little League classes will be kept to small group sizes. Places are expected to fill quickly & admission can only be guaranteed to members who have committed a six week program at a cost of £25.
· Participation In Badge Award Scheme
o A range of iron on badges promoting specific behaviours will be awarded to JSL Little League members who earn them. These attractive iron on badges will encourage children to work harder, concentrate, be better behaved & learn new skills.
· Option To Re-Enrol
o We expect that classes will fill up quickly & if required, a waiting list will be introduced. However, existing members will have a priority option to extend their membership before those on a waiting list are offered a place.
